Melinda Wallman is a London-based executive search and diversity & inclusion consultant known for her expertise in the legal sector. She is a partner in the London office of transatlantic legal search boutique, Mlegal. She specialises in Law Firm Partner and General Counsel search, particularly where clients wish to attract female talent.
A former corporate lawyer, Melinda moved into search in 1997, joining Major, Lindsey & Africa in New York in 1999. Melinda established the firm’s Hong Kong and London offices in 2001 and 2004. She ran MLA’s international business until 2008 and led its EMEA Partner Practice Group until 2018. During her search career, Melinda has helped U.S., UK and other international law firms and corporate law departments to expand internationally; and has guided hundreds of lawyers into better situations. She has run a professional development network for female lawyers, Managing your Career: the XX Advantage, since 2010. She co-founded the Reignite Academy, London’s first collaborative returnship programme for City lawyers, in 2018.
Melinda is currently the Deputy Global Chair, International of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF), having launched its UK chapter in 2015. She is on the board of the UK Foundation of UNSW Australia holding the position of Deputy Chair UNSW UK Foundation from 2015 to 2018. Melinda sat on MLA’s Diversity Committee from 2016 to 2018.
